The interplay between colour, light and material is the outstanding design element with which the architects Anouk Legendre and Nicolas Desmazières gave a new lease of life to the previously dark, colourless and empty recreation rooms at Paris X-Nanterre University. Particular importance was attached to the careful choice of lighting.

Timelessly elegant ceiling luminaires, whose classical cylindrical shape combined with high-quality hand-blown opal glass is impressive, enhance the conference and auditorium areas. The light is given off smoothly and uniformly to the environment. The arrangement of the luminaires in lines creates a foil to the round arrangement of the seating, thus conveying an exciting contrast.

Parts of the façade are brought to life by transparency and clarity. This lightness is taken up again by the illumination used. Timeless glass cylinders made of high-quality hand-blown opal glass are harmoniously integrated in the room design. Unshielded light distribution ensures a uniform and harmonious light effect.

Colour as a design element is gently supported by the illumination used, without competing with it. The combination of daylight and artificial light underlines the lightness of the design and creates interesting perspectives.
